Gabriela Alarcón

Being originally from Puerto Rico, Gabriela is now a Washington, DC based conceptual portrait and fashion photographer with a background in journalism, communications, and writing. Her photographic work uses creative styling, lighting, and a strong emphasis on post production to produce a look that is unique with a nostalgic feel.

Gabriela has explored many creative approaches with a focus on conceptual portraiture and self-portraiture, a category that classifies as her most personal being that it focuses on the power of self-expression and/or becoming a different persona. When not in the studio or on location, Gabriela likes to travel and explore landscapes and architecture which also serve as inspiration for her portraiture, and just recently she explored the world of food photography, where she found a love and talent for.
